Stephen Shergold is a partner in the White & Case ESG & Sustainability Practice. He advises on environmental law impacts, supply chain due diligence and human rights, risk management, compliance, stakeholder engagement and corporate sustainability strategy, tailored ESG policies and procedures and their operational implementation, environmental litigation and defense, and environmental and ESG regulatory due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Stephen‘s experience includes advising multinational companies on a range of global M&A, regulatory, ESG due diligence and ESG mandates, compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, carbon offset project development, regulatory approvals for new market entry and specific environmental liability matters. He has also advised on the structuring and implementation of a social compliance program to manage human rights risk associated with first-tier contractors, joint venture parties and the supply chain, specifically the risks of human trafficking.
