Phase 1

Dakeryn is a trusted name in the lumber industry, but their website didn’t live up to their reputation. The main issue was that it didn’t contain much information, so potential customers couldn’t learn enough about the company or its products.

Our focus for this website redesign was to add more depth to the site while keeping the navigation straightforward. The new design would feature new areas for the other companies in the Dakeryn group, flesh out the product directory, and build up their sustainability content.

Style Concepts

Dakeryn already had great branding. What we wanted to accomplish with the new design was a more modern look and feel, and a stronger visual story. We emphasized their all-new photography to drive more of a connection with website visitors, set against their outdoorsy palette of greens, greys, and soft yellow accents.

Phase 3

Bringing it all together

The new Dakeryn website is a much more professional user experience, and a stronger testament to their reputation. It's easy for a potential customer to discover information about each of the companies, their certifications, and the various Dakeryn lumber products. And the new photography creates a friendly tone that reflects their passion for cultivating long-lasting relationships with their customers.

I reached out to Forge and Smith in 2018 in search of a new corporate website after researching developers online. I loved their portfolio and Shawn provided a comprehensive and competitive offer. We decided to stay with our incumbent provider - however it didn't end up working out. After much frustration and fatigue I circled back to Forge and Smith in 2019 and they were able to seamlessly take over the process. We went back and forth quite a bit in the early stages on the design and they were extremely detailed and patient. Ultimately they were able to provide a look and feel that represented our brand with great functionality. We are all very pleased with the result. I would happily recommend the team at Forge and Smith to anyone looking for a website overhaul.
